Introduction to quality and supervision rules of Tecno cer

The manufacturing of cuspidors requires to combine technical characteristics of the unit materials (plastic, steel) with the ceramic materials and processes. The final product must have very small tolerances, mechanical and thermic resistance, very low adsorption, resistance to acids and stains attacks, constant result in colour, brightness and smoothness.

All these aspects ARE NOT typical of ceramic products.

In Italy there are some Institutes that are specialized in the research and experiment of ceramic industry. One is the Ceramic Center of Bologna, working in cooperation with the Faculty of Engineering, Bologna’s University.This Institute carries periodically tests for us for the mechanical resistance, acids and stains resistance of our products, using autoclaves at 151°C, at 500 kPa, with steam pressure or1 hour. Tests are performed in accordance with UNI EN 105 rules. All manufacturing process are based on a constant control of materials, manufacturing and firing.

Materials: Clay and Enamel are the main raw materials.

They’re tested by the suppliers and tested again once arrived in Tecno cer,expecially dilatation coefficients, essential for our ceramic products. This test inside the Company is possible thanks to an instrument called “Thermodilatomether”, mainly used by Universities, Specialized Laboratories of big Industries, but that most of ceramic companies ignore, due to high costs,high qualification requirements and complexity These tests are performed each time new materials enters Tecno cer, and weekly. All tests documented and identificated. All mixture of clay and enamel, prepared weekly, l have a code of traceability Raw materials are measured by weight and size daily, to keep under control shrinkage. Employees are constantly trained for supplementary quality updating. Manufacturing: All phases, starting from design, contact with clients, working process, handling, packaging, sales, shipments, eventual customer’s complaints are carried inside the company. A special mention to firing process: each firing is regulated according to a specific procedure, identified by a code indicating the number of firing, the employ, the date, for quality control and traceability by the customers.
